Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top Up)

Who is this qualification for?
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 6 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 50 minutes contact time (0.5-days) if self-study is undertaken.

Topics covered
These include the principles of terror threat awareness and minimising personal risk for security officers.

Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examinations.

Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Top Up)

Who is this qualification for?
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 23 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 13 hours and 35 minutes contact time (2-days) if self-study is undertaken.

Topics covererd
These include principles of terror threat awareness, principles of using equipment as a door supervisor and the application of physical intervention skills.

Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by practical assessments and multiple-choice examinations.
